Just a herald of new tidings!

As it stands, I, along with Widdershins are now in what you might call control of Old Kingdom. As such, I plan to make an entirely new board itself for the new OldK. I won't be changing it far from the original design of OldK, to keep it close to Oli's view for the place, and because it's such a nice place to begin with.

I'm comissioning the help from a couple of my friends who are more talented in this subject than I, as I want to make OldK into something glorious.

I'm going to talk the full details of our changes over with Widdershins tomorrow, and then we'll set off to it, I 'spose. I plan to take this position seriously, and do everything I can to help OldK. From looking over the way we have things now, they're cluttered a bit, and strewn around really... so I came up with the idea just to update all of OldK, by making a fresh start.

We're going to make sure that we're ready to accept memebers before we try to advertise too much for them, though I've started on that already.

As a note to Oli, I'm not sure we're going to exactly keep the current skins, depending on if I can get any kind of help with that (I don't have the skills needed to make them, however I know a number of people who do.) I'll wait on this part, depending on if you want me to use the same skin... or if we make new ones, you'd like to have a hand in them or something.

Otherwise, things should be somewhat quiet around here for a while (what's new really?), but [hopefully] the new version won't take too long.

I'm doing this for the sake of wanting to actually pick up OldK's pieces and make something out of them. I'm trying to do as much as I can for this place, and I know Widd wants to also. I'm determined not to let this new OldK die out again... and if it does, well, it's going to be some time before that happens, I hope. I hope to see your suggestions, and comments as well as your support. I'm going to be giving the adress of the new website when it's made to those interested to see it's progress, and also to give their imput on the design.

Ah, starting fresh? That's cool, great fun to start new places too. ^_^
If you need any help with graphics, I could help out here and there, but I procrastinate, so I might take a while at times. That's if you really want a new skin, I mean from reading that, you may keep this one? I'd suggest sorting out the coding too. Losing the menu is a bit dangerous. It's vital to a forum. If you need some good codes, you could always look here. The way it tells you to place codes is pretty much self-explanitory and easy to understand. If you have any trouble with coding, you could ask me for help, although I'm no expert. Better off asking a proper coder if you need serious help.

Oh yeah... the menu disappears to FF users, it's been a problem from the start, I think. But that was from before I became an admin. This is all Oli's work here, and I think Akkarins, but I'm not sure.

Depending on wether or not Oli is attached to this skin, or he doesn't mind us taking a crack at making a new one, I think I might look into making a new skin. (Which I can attempt doing, since I now have PS.)

We should get this sorted... our plans at least, by tomorrow, or some time during tomorrow, since I'm going to be gone for a bit... Didn't expect to have to leave the house today, but I do... and I haven't really gotten to talk to Widd about the forum much yet.

Hey guys, i'm glad you're all upto it. I really don't mind if you completely change the skin and coding, this one is quite hard to see and some of the coding is seriously messed up. If you need any help with icons just ask, seeing as i am now a 'pixel artist'. One thing i must say is perhaps that you don't delete all the old threads? (such as the ones in the archive) just for historical sake.

Oh yeah, I wasn't planning on getting rid of the old threads. So, no worries there. I'll look into all the stuff once I can. Coding shouldn't be a big problem... and it seems that skins won't be very difficult either. As I love your current icons, and smilies, I wouldn't have a problem with you doing those, if you ended up with the time.

Eh, are you kidding? I'm a stickler for keeping old stuff I wouldn't let any of it be deleted anyway. I can be very stoical about explaining why that's a good idea.

One thing, tho, there are.... ah, nm. We'll solve it I guess... I was just thinking of unfinished rp's, I dunno if and how we'd transfer it over to the new board.

Well, technically, it could be done... somehow, there must be an answer. Or, well... I dunno. If ye can archive pm's, then ye can probably archive rp's, but I dunno about getting them back.

As for the new board, it's the same site, so far it's the same setup as before, the only difference is that I'm the main admin (I mean, I created the board), and not all of the categories are figured out. The point of it is that we don't want to change OldK any more than we have to, but still bring some changes to it.

And Akkarin, yer not ousted. Ye merely got new helpers to take control when ye can't get on for such long periods of time. In light of your internet connection it's better if ye not be alone in it, 'cause OldK thrives and dies along with admin activity it seems. Having 4 admins who're roughly active is better than none of them online. (Well, technically there are 5, if I count correctly.)

Neh, I gtg work, so I'll be back later on... *sigh* We should discuss it more in-depth on the staff board - I said that shifty-ups should be gotten over with now, so we know who's who, who we can count on and in what position. Nobody is being threatened with anything, all I want to do is to get it sorted out, everyone speaks for him- or herself with responsibility. We got an idea with Verius about all this, but I'd like everyone to speak for themselves first, before we move.

There will be more difference that just main admin change, actually. A good bit more. I'm going to try to fix a bit of the coding, and design a new layout, if I can. I'm going to try out a lot of stuff. Don't worry, I didn't make a new site planning on keeping it a carbon copy of the last, just fresh. I wanna fix it up, try and make it better.

I am getting the slight admin's curse though, I've been busier lately, and, well... I'm going on vacation in a few days, but I'll work on it when I have free time.
